One fine day… Birmingham audiences may know Carlo Rizzi from his years with Welsh National Opera and no conductor is better at telling a story - or wringing the heart. Tonight, in his first ever appearance with the CBSO, he sweeps us to Italy at its most romantic: favourite melodies from Puccini’s Tosca and Madam Butterfly, and Respighi’s multicoloured postcard from Rome.
