Journey into a lost sound-world: Vivaldi’s Gloria is one of the most popular of all choral works, yet no-one knows for sure how it sounded to its composer’s ears, written as it was for the female performers of a Venetian orphanage. Oxford-based choir Schola Pietatis Antonio Vivaldi specialises in recreating that unique sound and is joined here for an evening of ‘all-female’ Vivaldi by one of the UK’s most internationally renowned period orchestras.
