The splendid magic of Baroque theatre on the stage of the Komische Oper Berlin: in the celebrated production by the Norwegian theatre magician Stefan Herheim and with musical direction by Baroque specialist Konrad Junghänel , Handel's opera Xerxes becomes a feast for the eyes, ears and senses. With grand opulence and a loving eye for detail, Herheim tells the story of the mighty Persian King Xerxes, who commands great armies and yet who is helpless in the face of love.
