Siberia-born, London-based pianist Pavel Kolesnikov became a sensation when he took home the world’s largest piano prize at the Honens International Piano Competition. His Wigmore Hall debut elicted a five-star review from The Telegraph. Two appearances at the Park Avenue Armony in 2023 prompted The New York Times to write, “A stalwart of the London music scene, [Kolesnikov] has been virtually absent from New York’s stages. He shouldn’t be,” hailing both his piano artistry and deep-thinking programming. He brings both to our stage, weaving throughlines from the French Baroque to Chopin and more in a program that is the ideal introduction to a poet of the piano already making his mark.
