Ex Cathedra and pianist Steven Osborne perform Rachmaninov's Vespers and Études-Tableaux by candlelight, led by Jeffrey Skidmore.
Glowing with radiant Russian Orthodox spirituality, Rachmaninov’s Vespers are powerfully atmospheric, a rich choral tapestry with awesome sonorities. Rachmaninov loved them above all his other works. Interweaving the movements of the Vespers, the carefully selected Preludes and Etudes provide links, complements and contrasts, performed by the brilliant Steven Osborne.
