They say the best Spanish music is written by Frenchmen. Manuel de Falla would have disagreed, and his flamboyant ballet-score The Three-Cornered Hat is one of the great Spanish showpieces. As for Maurice Ravel’s exuberant Rapsodie espagnole and the playful Alborada del gracioso – well, he was half Spanish!
