The Brussels Philharmonic, Belgium’s oldest orchestra, was founded in 1935 and has collaborated with composers such as Bartók, Stravinsky, Messiaen and Francesconi. The orchestra’s historic home port is the Flagey building, in acoustic terms one of the top concert halls in the world, and with a long history of avant-garde recordings, world premières and artistic collaborations.
In recent years, the Brussels Philharmonic has also achieved a distinctive place on the international scene, with regular appearances in the great European capitals of music (Amsterdam, Paris, London, Berlin, Vienna, Salzburg) under the baton of chief-conductor Michel Tabachnik.
