Beethoven was a great inspiration to Schubert, and although both men were Viennese, they probably never met. We're in luck tonight: they'll both be with us. Beethoven's septet will put us in a good mood that will last until the end of the work. Even Schubert and his octet will not shake us out of this sweet balance.
