Stephen Farr puts the Royal Albert Hall’s titanic instrument through its paces in the first of this year’s two organ recitals. Among the most adaptable virtuosos of his generation, he takes in music by J. S. Bach and two of this year’s anniversary composers, Jehan Alain and Liszt.
There’s also the world premiere of a large-scale solo piece composed for Farr: expect something direct and communicative from Judith Bingham, a past member of the BBC Singers.
