Alim Beisembayev, winner of the 2021 Leeds International Piano Competition and a BBC New Generation Artist from 2023-5, won high praise for his debut recording of Liszt’s Transcendental Etudes. He turns to the composer’s Piano Sonata in B minor, among the greatest of all 19th-century concert works, prefacing it with the entrancing lyricism of Schubert’s Moments musicaux and mighty ‘Wanderer’ Fantasy.
