The New Trombone Collective presents the world premiere of a new work by Michael Gordon for nine trombones, as a unique spatial sound experience at the Nieuwe Kerk in The Hague.
The New Trombone Collective, consisting of nine top Dutch trombonists, is known for its energetic playing, adventurous programming, and tight ensemble sound. During this concert, they will perform the world premiere of a work by Michael Gordon, an American composer and co-founder of Bang on a Can, known for his rhythmic intensity, layered sound masses, and impressive dramatic arcs. They will also perform other spatial pieces, in which the audience is completely surrounded by sound within the spacious and monumental church interior.
