| Inon Barnatan | Piano |
For Inon Barnatan’s return to PCMS he brings a recital of works inspired by Chopin’s own music and composers linked to genres he defined or popularized like Ballades, Nocturnes, and Mazurkas. Considered “one of the most admired pianists of his generation” (New York Times) Barnatan’s acclaimed interpretations of Chopin are generally characterized by a delicate touch, structural clarity, and a “light, bouncy” feel. In describing Chopin’s music Barnatan has referred to his output—especially for solo piano—as: “Sentiment without sentimentality, very beautiful and touching.”
