Anna Meredith - Nuc

Nuc began as a conversation between Anna Meredith and Richard Jones (our viola player) after they realized that after ten years of frequent collaboration they were close to an album’s worth of music. The idea was born that they would not only make the first studio recordings of Anna’s original music for string quartet, but that Richard would also make new arrangements of existing Anna songs.

The result is a joyful and bittersweet, energetic and soothing, never too serious collection of tracks that shine with Anna's signature compelling harmonies, rhythmic accelerations and sparkling textures.
