Beethoven Quartets 3

Beethoven's complete deafness saw him experiment with new avenues for string quartets until he passed away: he expanded movements, increased their number, condensed texts and created harmonies as well as truly amazing rhythmic combinations. The young South African composer Matthijs van Dijk also likes venturing outside the box to explore new territories: he has composed a thrilling piece for the Signum Quartet which blends mind-blowing repetitive performance styles with soaring sound explosions... The string quartet will never stop innovating in the footsteps of Beethoven...
