Inspired by the enchanting gardens of Aranjuez Palace, Joaquín Rodrigo’s popular guitar concerto, one of the most famous instrumental concertos in music history, transports listeners to a world full of emotion and Spanish joie de vivre. Guitar star Pablo Sáinz-Villegas performs this in Grafenegg with virtuosity and authenticity. Manuel de Falla also brings the Spanish soul to life. For the orchestral suites of his ballet «El sombrero de tres picos», he transformed the pulsating energy of Spanish folklore into inimitable orchestral splendour. The premiere of a new orchestral work by Fabián Panisello, Composer in Residence at the 2025 festival, adds a final special touch to this evening full of timbres, emotion and elegance.
