This wide-ranging programme brings together long standing colleagues and friends. It features a special version for choir and ensemble of the movingCadman Requiem, which was written in memory of Bryars's friend and sound engineer Bill Cadman who was killed in the 1988 Lockerbie air crash and the iconic classic of minimalism Jesus’ Blood Never Failed Me Yet. Plus some solo songs performed by the composers daughter Orlanda Bryars, who also sings with the Addison Chamber Choir.

Gavin Bryars, born in 1943, studied philosophy but became a jazz bassist and pioneer of free improvisation with Derek Bailey and Tony Oxley. For a composer whose catalogue includes Concerti, String Quartets, Psalm settings, operas and ballets, part of the joy of Bryars's music is the unexpected twist he gives to these otherwise every day genres – his Piano and Double Bass Concertos for example include parts for a male choir!
