It’s been five decades since George Lucas’ original Star Wars film burst onto our screens – changing cinematic and musical history forever.
Join us to mark major milestones for these two icons in a concert that brings the battle between good and evil to rip-roaring life.
The triumphant brass fanfare of the Star Wars Suite heralds an epic journey into the Star Wars universe through the music that defines it.
Conducted by Caleb Young, the Philharmonia raises goosebumps with its performance of themes from the saga, conjuring characters including Princess Leia, Yoda and Darth Vader, with his relentless, menacing ‘Imperial March’.
The concert opens with excerpts from scores by Williams for classic films Hook and E.T., and a new viola concerto by the legendary composer, performed here in its UK premiere by Antoine Tamestit.
Over his incredible career, Williams has composed the music for more than 100 films. He has worked with revered directors including Steven Spielberg, Alfred Hitchcock and Robert Altman, earning five Oscars and 54 nominations.
Tickets: from £29
