'Energy crackles around the Cuban-born conductor and composer like an electric field.' Sunday Times Magazine
Uniting the music of Ursula Mamlok with three newly-commissioned works by Neva Derewetzky, Charles Shadle and Daniel Thomas Davis, this programme celebrates composers who have expanded the expressive language of percussion at its most imaginative. Spanning generations yet connected by a spirit of exploration, these works reveal percussion as a medium that pushes far beyond rhythm alone. Featuring an exceptional line-up of virtuoso performers, this programme showcases the astonishing colour, power and versatility of one of music's most exciting instrumental families. Join Lontano for a thrilling evening that redefines what percussion can be.
