Prince Siegfried is under pressure in his new role as regent. Destined to marry a woman he does not love he escapes into a world of fantasy where he falls head over heels in love with a beautiful swan; the symbol of romantic love that he so desperately desires. But the swan is an enchanted princess…
The ballet of all ballets with celebrated choreography by Rudolf Nureyev. After his two earlier versions of Swan Lake, Nureyev’s 1984 production for L’Opéra de Paris is considered his definitive and final version. It was performed for the first time at the Royal Swedish Opera in 2021. This is a chance to see this acclaimed production again – a classic ballet saga about good and evil in which love conquers darkness in the end, accompanied by Tchaikovsky’s iconic music.
