The Opernhaus Zurich offers a first-rate Baroque concert within the mini festival “Finale” to mark the end of the unfortunate 2019-20 season. 

Anna Maria della Pietà may not be the most celebrated violinists in history, but she inspired Antonio Vivaldi to write some of his finest concertos, two of which were heard in this tribute to three of the Red Priest's muses. 

One had the opportunity to see The Cleveland Orchestra function as a true chamber ensemble without conductor as a program of Vivaldi, Haydn and Mendelssohn was led by concertmaster William Preucil.

Such is the growing popularity of the solo countertenor voice that in this past week I was able to hear four countertenor performances in London - the latest being Max Emanuel Cenčić.
