Following the recent sell-out productions of Aci by the River (2024) and In the Realms of Sorrow (2023), the Handel Opera Studio, in collaboration with La Nuova Musica and New English Ballet Theatre, presents Tales of Apollo and Hercules: a brand-new and original Handelian double bill.
Taking place in the grandeur of Shoreditch Town Hall’s Victorian Music Hall, Tales of Apollo and Hercules weaves together two sublime dramatic tales composed at opposite ends of Handel’s life.
Tales of Apollo and Hercules will explore the lives of two tragic and divine half-brothers and recount their quest for love, their battles with choice and anguish, and their acceptance of fate. Much-acclaimed director Thomas Guthrie joins rising-star choreographer Valentino Zucchetti to create a spellbinding evening of mythical and fantastical storytelling through drama and dance. LHF favourites La Nuova Musica, and their conductor David Bates, join a cast of acclaimed soloists for this original Handel production.Tales of Apollo and Hercules promises to be one of the most original Handel events of 2025 and is expected to sell out, so tickets should be booked early.
