There are some ideas that come out of a pint in the pub with friends that seem improbable, if not impossible ‐ they’re certainly usually inadvisable. Mounting a fully‐staged Ring Cycle in German with Piano and light instrumental accompaniment with the best and brightest of today’s emerging Wagnerian singers is certainly all of the above.
Fulham Opera, however, have just achieved the impossible with new productions of the four operas, which will be revived in February 2014 as complete cycles. Hardcore? Absolutely. Audacious? Certainly. Insane? Very probably... And yet this Ring has got people not just talking, but thinking; the immediacy of the action makes the music and text speak in a way you might never have encountered before in Wagner – the experience is unique. You’ll never see another Ring quite like it.
Don’t miss out on what is a once in a lifetime experience for everyone involved, creative team and audience alike.
