An over-enthusiastic audience distracts from an excellent performance of Mozart's Requiem Mass by the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and Choir with a first class quartet of soloists.

Iestyn Davies joins the Australian Chamber Orchestra for music by Bach and Pärt in a programme featuring distracting modern dance. 

Excerpts from Wagner's opus magnum, minus the singing, along with a Rossini overture and a new work by local composer Lachlan Skipworth make for an enjoyable concert by the larger forces of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. 

The pairing of Vivaldi's Gloria with Handel's Dixit Dominus makes for an interesting combination with, on this occasion, the latter making the more dramatic impact with the always impressive St George's Cathedral Consort. 

Haydn holds his own between Stravinsky and Shostakovich, thanks to an impassioned performance by Li-Wei Qin with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. 

The Australian String Quartet joins the West Australian Symphony Orchestra under Ludovic Morlot for an enjoyable and  timely round of Beethoven interleaved with John Adams' homage to the 250-year old composer. 

Wagner is a rare bird in Perth; the second *Tristan und Isolde* in 12 years worth the wait, no less for being a concert performance, and for bringing Skelton's masterful interpretation to an Australian audience
