Sala: Ted Shawn Theatre, Becket

Kicking off the ambitious summer dance festival at Jacob’s Pillow in the Berkshire highlands of Massachusetts, Paul Taylor Dance, whose roots at the Pillow date back to 1964, brought three blockbuster pieces. 

The Center Will Not Hold rings in the 93rd Festival at Jacob’s Pillow, a celebration of American and Black vernacular dance styles led by Ephrat Asherie and Michelle Dorrance.

Dance Theatre of Harlem feels poised to forge ahead to a new era, all while bringing together its knowledge and legacy from the past half century.
