Stefanie Nelson’s evening-length piece Oddball Zebra seemed less of a cohesive whole and more of a disjointed combination of separate vignettes.

Shannon Gillen + Guests gave a striking display of powerful, virtuosic dance, but I’m beginning to find that such a performance is no longer a rarity; the unique performance is that which offers not only undeniable technical prowess but also dynamics and an emotional connection.
