Obra: Symphony in F sharp major, Op.40

An unusual but inspired programme of Riisager, Gershwin and Korngold finds a very receptive audience in Singapore. 

On the orchestra's first US tour since Kirill Petrenko took over as Chief Conductor, their Carnegie Hall program includes a work by American composer Andrew Norman, an early Mozart concerto and Korngold’s sole symphony.

Franz Welser-Möst delivered a first-rate account of the Symphony in F sharp major, which was panned at its premiere but has seen a recent spike in popularity.
