Motus Quartet’s programme includes one of the great landmarks of 20th-century chamber music, Bartók’s Third String Quartet, which received its world première performance at Wigmore Hall in 1929. The work’s concise thematic material flourishes thanks to the composer’s compelling development of it and thrilling use of diverse instrumental techniques, textures and timbres.
