Conductor Kristjan Järvi begins a new series of world music and jazz collaborations. The first half of this concert includes works by Kodály: Peacock Variations and Dances of Galanta, and Enescu's Romanian Variations No 1, whilst the second half welcomes the virtuosic Theodossi Spassov Trio from Bosnia who, alongside the LSO, perform in this specially arranged set of Balkan music.

Kristjan Järvi cuts quite a dash on the podium, youthful, exuberant and full of energy, all adjectives that could be applied to the music in last night's Barbican crossover gig by the LSO, entitled "Balkan Fever".
