The programme of the solo recital at the Rudolfinum symbolically tells the story of Garrick Ohlsson: his victory in the Chopin Competition in 1970; his lifelong interest in Beethoven, crowned by the recording of all his sonatas; his European-American origins, like the remarkable composer Ursula Mamlok, and of course Schubert's Fantasia, the faithful guide of all piano pilgrims. Garrick Ohlsson celebrates his 75th birthday this year.
