Sanjoy Roy has written on dance for the Guardian since 2002. He is the London correspondent for Dance International magazine, and has contributed to many other publications including the New Statesman, Dance Gazette and Dancing Times. He has given writing workshops for Dance Umbrella and The Place Theatre (London), and for the pan-European Aerowaves Spring Forward festival. He has been a jury member for several choreography competitions – The Place Prize (London), ECDA (Chennai), Premio Equilibrio (Rome) – and was formerly the editor and designer at Dance Books Ltd.
