Donna Perlmutter was the chief music/dance critic of the Los Angeles Herald Examiner under Jim Bellows. She won an ASCAP-Deems Taylor-Award for excellence in writing at the Los Angeles Times where her work has appeared regularly. Also she has written for publications including the New York Times, the Hollywood Reporter, Opera News, Dance Magazine, Opera Canada, New York Magazine, Performing Arts Magazine, NewTimes, Los Angeles Daily News. She wrote the first biography of British choreographer Antony Tudor, who danced and choreographed for Marie Rambert at London’s Mercury Theatre. Its title, “Shadowplay: The Life of Antony Tudor.”
