Gabriele is an Italian music historian and critic based in Vienna, with a background in composition. Since 2015, he has focused on the evolution of Beethoven interpretation and its sometimes uneasy relationship with what the composer actually wrote. Away from the concert hall, he can usually be found digging through old manuscripts or in lively conversation with fellow musicians, making the case that not every tradition is set in stone.
