Dreams, people and music. This summer’s exhibition tells the story of Konserthuset’s long and rich history.
For one hundred years, Konserthuset has been a musical heart of Stockholm. Here, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and visiting artists have brought generations of listeners together for concerts, celebrations and moments that have become part of Sweden’s musical history.
Since its inauguration on 7 April 1926, the blue building at Hötorget has stood as a Stockholm landmark – a venue created for music and for the meeting between performers and audience.
Great symphonies, chamber music, jazz and music of many other genres resound here. Nobel ceremonies and award presentations are held here, and both international stars and young musicians at the beginning of their careers appear on its stages.
Konserthuset has evolved in step with its time, yet its mission remains the same: to make music a living force at the heart of the city.
This anniversary exhibition tells the story of the building, the people and the music – of the dreams behind Konserthuset and of a century of musical experiences.
Tickets: Free admission, no tickets required!
