John Tavener’s meditative Cello Concerto, with Jan Vogler as soloist, places the cello at the centre in music that unfolds slowly and invites contemplation.
The programme continues with Anton Bruckner’s Symphony No. 3, a vast and powerful work that moves between dramatic intensity and moments of calm.
