Imogen Cooper is joined by regular colleagues Adrian Brendel and Henning Kraggerud in a programme celebrating the cello in Beethoven’s chamber music.

Piano and cello combine as equals in the captivating variations on Pamina and Papageno’s aria from Mozart’s The Magic Flute. After the spirited precision of the first piano trio (1793), we move into another world with the grandly spacious Archduke Trio (1811), with its symphonic first movement, sublime Andate cantabile and jubilant finale.
