Marco Beasley, a charismatic and warm-hearted champion of Italian Renaissance song, will turn 70 in 2027. Late last year, he announced his final concert. Katharina Lindekens talks to him about how his artistic journey is linked to a human journey, about the stages of life and the phase he finds himself in now. With the help of his compagnon de route, the enchanting strings player Franco Pavan, he warms up his vocal cords one last time especially for the Concertgebouw, for a selection of frottole (songs from the Italian Renaissance).
