| Beatrice Nicholas | Klavier |
Join British pianist Beatrice Nicholas for a night where classical meets swing. BEATRICE jumps effortlessly from Beethoven to boogie, giving Chopin and Liszt a swinging, jazz-infused twist in a celebration of 1930s African American women composers and artists such as Hazel Scott, Lil Hardin Armstrong, Florence Price, and Margaret Bonds.
BEATRICE is a dynamic performer, combining classical and jazz in her culturally rich and ethnically diverse programmes. She has performed in leading venues - Wigmore Hall, Southbank Centre, Kings Place, Biarritz Coliseum, and Cartier Foundation - appeared in the Hollywood movie The Beekeeper, performing music by Frederic Chopin, and was invited to play at No.10 Downing Street for Black History Month in 2025. Her EP Black and Classical, which spotlights classical music by African American women composers, was described as a “stunning record” by Bandcamp.
Don't miss this a bold virtuoso, who has been praised by Herbert Music for her “incredible energy” and by Arts Mag for playing with an almost “supernatural ease.”
