In 2027, it will be 200 years since Beethoven’s death. Reason to celebrate? In any case, it’s reason enough for The Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century to put Beethoven in the spotlight for a whole month. Under the baton of Jakob Lehmann, the young conductor who is rapidly making a name for himself on the international scene, the orchestra will perform some of Beethoven’s most beautiful works.
Pianist Olga Pashchenko will perform as soloist in one of Beethoven’s piano concertos. Pashchenko is one of today’s most versatile pianists and is an artistic partner of The Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century. Together, they are recording all of Beethoven’s piano concertos for Alpha Classics.
For the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, Beethoven is iconic: this music belongs to the core repertoire with which the orchestra rose to prominence and made a name for itself worldwide. In this anniversary program, tradition and the future come together in a revolutionary repertoire that sounds as vibrant as ever.
