Meet the young Beethoven, teeming with new ideas in two of his earliest works, alongside music inspired by this early style.
With a movement said to have been inspired by Romeo and Juliet, Beethoven's Quartet op 18 no 1 was started when he was just 27. For RCM musicians just embarking on their careers, there’s something especially fascinating about performing a celebrated composer at a similarly early stage.
