Everyone knows that K-pop is big business. For theatre-maker and composer Jaha Koo, it’s also a medium filled with contradictions: hyper-capitalistic and tightly controlled, yet fertile ground for protest, solidarity, and collective experience. When an army of K-pop fans mobilises, the impact cannot be underestimated – even Donald Trump felt its effects during his 2020 presidential campaign.
Out of this tension, Koo and Jeong craft a captivating spectacle full of rap, dance, and singing, set against an impressive video backdrop. The key question is: how can pop music become a breeding ground for new political ideas and alternative visions of the future? Find the answer yourself during an evening of infectious beats and dance moves.
We welcome back Jaha Koo for the first time since 2021, when he brought the final piece of his Hamartia trilogy to our stage. With his long-time artistic partner Eunkyung Jeong, Koo consistently questions colonial and cultural power structures in his work. Recently, Koo’s influence and artistic signature were internationally recognised with the International Ibsen Award 2026, often described as the Nobel Prize of theatre.
Tickets: € 10 - € 35
