Ephemeral forms open out into a lyrical spring morning in Boulanger’s D’un matin de printemps. From the light, we turn inwards to Mägi’s Vesper, where beautifully sweeping melodic lines form a hushed prayer-like contemplation. Ravel’s Mother Goose Suite is infused with enchanting fairytales and wonder. Finally, Weinberg’s Sinfonietta No. 1 is filled with influences of Jewish, Polish and Moldovan folk music.
