| Engegård Quartet |
Formed in Norway’s Lofoten Islands, the Engegård Quartet brings a distinctive Scandinavian sound. Their recordings, described as ‘breathtaking’ by The Strad, are widely praised for their clarity and character.
Expansive, ambitious and thrilling, Beethoven’s ‘Rasumovsky’ quartet is a masterpiece. Listen out for the heavenly slow movement inspired by the starry skies. Kurtág’s Microludes are brief but striking – a series of miniature moments, shifting from stillness to sudden intensity. And Grieg’s only complete String Quartet is full of contrast and colour. Bold, expressive, and rich in texture.
Tickets – £10.50 to £29.00
