Blazing with sunset longing and soul-searing ardour, Dvořák’s Cello Concerto is the masterpiece in this gala concert starring one of the world’s most beloved cellists, the legendary Yo-Yo Ma. Spanish conductor Juanjo Mena leads this programme beginning with Nielsen’s exuberant Symphony No. 4, so named for the composer’s goal to express the elemental will to live.
