Live, Video: Kritiken zu klassischen Konzerten, Opern, Ballett und Tanz finden | Anvil, Basingstoke

Involving performances of standard repertoire by the Philharmonia open Basingstoke’s international concert season.

Finnish conductor Emilia Hoving makes a big impression in her Basingstoke guest appearance with the Philharmonia Orchestra.

An evening in Basingstoke that variously captivates, startles and quickens the senses in distinctive, compelling performances.

Mozart and 1784 is the basis for this latest OAE venture, an engaging programme that highlights the flawless technique of 18th-century keyboard specialist Kristian Bezuidenhout.

Mahler and Sibelius own the lion’s share of this Anvil concert in beefy performances that leave a strong, but at times mixed, impression.

Handsome, if not razor-sharp, performances of familiar repertoire, given with affection, ear-catching colour and boundless vitality.

Music across a century from two different cultural spaces made for a fascinating journey with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Kirill Karabits as superb guides.
