With over half a million visitors every year, Nottingham’s Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall leads the way for arts and entertainment in the East Midlands and beyond. Its diverse programme of events includes internationally renowned orchestras, leading ballet companies, contemporary dance, opera and touring drama alongside West End musicals, family shows, stand-up comedy and rock & pop.

The striking visual design of the Royal Concert Hall, combined with its world renowned acoustic, makes it one of the most highly regarded classical music venues in the UK.  The 2,497-seat auditorium is home to the Nottingham Classics international concert series, one of the best supported classical seasons in the UK. The venue enjoys a close relationship with the Hallé, its resident orchestra since 2003, and regularly hosts the UK’s leading symphony orchestras, including the BBC Philharmonic, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. Leading international orchestras, such as the Czech Philharmonic and St Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, are also regular visitors. Since 2010 the Royal Concert Hall has also hosted a Sunday Morning Piano Series which showcases international soloists, leading UK artists and exciting rising stars.

The outstanding sound in the Royal Concert Hall makes it a favourite with conductors, soloists and orchestras alike. Bryn Terfel has described it as “one of the finest acoustics in Europe” and every year the John Wilson Orchestra has voted it its favourite venue in its players’ poll.
