Stunning debut performances from Jake Roxander and Skylar Brandt in Don Quixote for ABT, made it a night to remember.

The fiery return of Don Quixote as ABT continues their summer season has proved to be a vehicle of excellence for multiple casts, many of whom were making role debuts.

In contrast to companies like the Bolshoi, ABT’s Don Quixote comes across as sweet but slight.

It’s only her third performance of role, and her New York debut, but it was so polished that Brandt immediately jumped to our writer's personal short-list of great Giselles.

The Seasons is overstuffed, uneven and way too busy. There are so many steps, but they rarely made me "see the music". It was a frustrating ballet, with so many lovely moments that were less than the sum of its parts.

Isabella Boylston, Cassandra Trenary and Herman Cornejo are exemplary in Mark Morris's new After You, a ballet of simple grace.
