McGill! Mozart! Orpheus! In one of the premier classical concerts of the season on any stage, clarinet superstar Anthony McGill joins the splendid Orpheus Chamber Orchestra for one of music’s greatest and most beloved works, Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto.

Anthony McGill is one of today’s most celebrated instrumentalists, revered for both his musical sensitivity and brilliance and as a leading cultural voice. This landmark event marks the first of three exclusive NYC concerts by McGill at 92NY this season. Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto is a work of serene beauty, luminous melodies, and profound emotional depth. McGill brings out the concerto’s singing quality with his perfect intonation and buttery tone, making it a fabulous showcase for his artistry.

Orpheus opens the concert with a dynamic work by C.P.E. Bach; bold, expressive Mozart, and Diamond’s exuberant Rounds for String Orchestra before McGill joins. Don’t miss him in the concerto masterwork he plays so naturally, it’s as if the clarinet is an extension of his body – and the work he has called, “the most beautiful music ever written – at least for clarinet.”
