One of Müpa Budapest's loveliest traditions is that of starting the new year with the music of Haydn. Although the two great oratorios, Die Schöpfung ("The Creation”) and Die Jahreszeiten ("The Seasons”), are played in loose rotation, it is the more primal, so to speak, of the two opuses - dealing, as it does, with the formation of the universe - that has come to dominate over the years.
