Présentée pour la première fois en vrai après une diffusion en streaming pendant le Covid-19, la production menée par la compagnie Peeping Tom et Le Concert d'Astrée s'enlise dans un surplus d'effets et d'ajouts.

Malgré une belle interprétation entre ombre et lumière, la production dirigée par Christophe Rousset pâtit d'un manque certain de prise de risques, tant du côté des voix que de la mise en espace.

Pour trois représentations, le Staatsoper Unter den Linden hisse le drapeau du baroque en affichant la désormais célèbre mise en scène de Didon et Énée par la chorégraphe allemande Sasha Waltz.

Christophe Rousset and Les Talens Lyriques perform Alceste, the most recent effort in their almost complete set of Lully's operas. A strong cast and a remarkable chorus complete a successful performance.

Richard Strauss and Hugo von Hofmannsthal’s Ariadne auf Naxos was first performed in 1912, in a production directed by Max Reinhardt. Unlike the version usually seen today, this first Ariadne was a long-winded play-opera-ballet hybrid, incorporating a full production of Molière’s Le bourgeois gentilhomme with dances to incidental music by Strauss followed by the short opera.
