L'elisir d'amore by Gaetano Donizetti returns to the Teatro Real, in the version created by Damiano Michieletto with his original production, transferring the action of this opera to a popular beach full of summer vacationers. He transforms the “Elixir” of the original libretto -a Bordeaux wine offered as a magic potion- into an energizer drink. One of the arias of this opera “Una furtive lágrima” is considered among the most popular compositions and melodies in history. Two outstanding casts are led by Erwin Schrott, Javier Camarena, Francisco Gatell, Sabina Puértolas and Brenda Rae, among other great artists.

Production of the Teatro Real, in co-production with the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia
